Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced that he will personally teach English and mathematics in government schools across the province, in what he describes as a direct effort to improve the quality of public education.
The minister said he will make regular visits to schools to conduct classes himself, with the aim of engaging directly with students and gaining a firsthand understanding of the challenges teachers and learners face inside the classroom.
According to the minister, the initiative is designed to strengthen learning outcomes, promote accountability among officials, and demonstrate the provincial government’s commitment to raising standards in public schools.
The education department has also called on other government officials to stay actively involved with schools and monitor how education reforms are being implemented on the ground.
The announcement is part of a wider push by the Punjab government to improve teaching quality, student performance, and the overall functioning of the public school system across the province.
