HEC Reschedules HAT Test for Overseas Scholarships to September 27, 2026

HEC has issued a corrigendum rescheduling the Higher Education Aptitude Test for overseas MS, MPhil, and PhD scholarships to September 27, 2026.

The Higher Education Commission has issued a corrigendum updating the schedule for the Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT), a required step for candidates applying to HEC’s overseas scholarship scheme covering MS, MPhil, and PhD studies. The test will now take place on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

The amendment follows up on HEC’s original overseas scholarship announcement, published on August 9, 2026.

What’s Changed for Applicants

Roll number slips available from September 17 Candidates can download their admit cards starting September 17, 2026. HEC’s Education Testing Council will make roll number slips available through its portal at etc.hec.gov.pk.

Corrected application portal HEC has fixed a structural error in the registration link from the original advertisement. Scholarship applications should now be submitted through the official HEC Scholarship Portal at scholarships.hec.gov.pk, not the previously listed link.

Everything else stays the same HEC has confirmed that all other terms, conditions, and guidelines from the August 9 notification remain fully in effect.

HEC is urging applicants to download their roll number slips as soon as they’re released, rather than waiting until closer to the test date, to avoid heavy portal traffic near the deadline. Candidates should carefully check their slips for:
